In-house Collaborative Partnership

Faces of Hope partners with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) Safety Assessment Team to ensure children and families have all the resources and support they need to succeed. The Safety Assessment team receives reports of child abuse and neglect in our region and meets with families to determine what families may need. Faces of Hope staff often collaborate to provide resources like counseling to help children both outside and within the foster care system.

IDHW and Faces recently partnered to help a mother escaping an abusive relationship.  The team at Faces supported her in completing a civil protection order and accessing emergency housing. We also gave her food and gas assistance – important tools that supported her efforts to keep her children from the abuser.

In Fiscal year 2020 alone, the entire state received 22,241 referrals of child abuse and neglect. Safety assessors in our region (region 4) provide support to children and families from Ada County, Elmore County, Valley County, and Boise County. We are grateful to the entire safety assessment team for their tireless response to the many calls of child abuse and neglect they receive every day.
